I sat down at my drawing table to knock out what was to be a quick oil sketch and just couldn’t do it in one sitting. I ended up having to go in twice and finish it up. That’s just how it’s going to have to be for me right now. I enjoy the small details and hope you do to! Thanks for watching and comment below with thoughts, suggestions or questions! Anything you’d like to see me paint?
So, I’m inspired to try to some new things. This sketch is done on watercolor paper primed with gesso. I’ve made texture with the gesso as I wasn’t happy with the straight lines that my brush was leaving. It works out though because, as I’ve done it in the past, I really like the results. I have fixed this drawing and plan to go back in and lay in oils. It’s my attempt to start a series of oil sketches. All of which will be available for purchase once they’re dried and ready. As always, thanks for watching and if you enjoyed it, please leave a like and subscribe!

I lost the drawing a bit in this one and ended up muddling the conte’ to regain control of it. Over all though, I pulled something out but not really what I was going for .. lessons learned with this medium – make sure that the measurements and relationships are all worked out before you lay in the conte’ crayon. Hope you enjoy my fumbling! Thanks for watching and please leave a like and subscribe!
