This adorable freestanding FacePlanter is gorgeous in person. The base glaze is deep blue and topped with a lighter blue glaze that is known for running and adding dimension to pieces. The way the lighter glaze breaks has created a dripping and cloud like effect throughout the whole planter. The face feels calm and sweet as if swimming in the sunlight!

I started making these FacePlanters this past summer. I cast each clay head in a plaster mold. Then I individually make the base and alter each one in various way. The glaze adds another layer of uniqueness to these babies and their expression or appearance changes at different angles. Freestanding FacePlanters are glazed on the inside and I have added drain holes to the base. FacePlanters that hang on walls are partially glazed on inside to allow for the unglazed clay inside to aid in water absorption. This also prevents the planter from dripping on walls. Don't have a green thumb but love the planters? Don't worry! They can be used for other purposes such as air plants, pencil holder, etc. Or just used as a decorative element on your counter, shelf, desk or wall!! All of my pottery is made with stoneware clay and fired to temperatures over 2000 degrees. This means each item is extremely durable, easy to clean and dishwasher safe.

Each piece of pottery is individually made and fired by me, in my private studio, behind my house. So, I'm most definitely a small business.
